Did you know that...Colombia's National Development Plan 2014 - 2018 ("NDP") classified as a basis, the types of mining into subsistence, small, medium and large scale mining? The Decree complies with the mandate established by the NDP* to define and establish the requirements for the classification of mining activities.
*The National Development Plan is the basis for the governmental policies of the presidents of Colombia. It links the proposals of the aspirants to the presidency of the Republic of Colombia with their management during the four years of government.
In figures; of the 114 million hectares of national territory, only 5% are titled for mining activity, of which 2.3% are in exploration, 1.6% in construction and assembly, and 1.1% in exploitation.
– The Colombian mining industry is on track to earn a record 8.8 billion pesos (US$2.181 billion) in taxes and royalties by 2022.The Colombian Mining Association (ACM) insisted that mining is an essential sector for the transition to renewable energies, according to sources from the Colombian Mining Association (ACM).
